Los 106 narcos colombianos “más importantes” de los 90

El documento fue desclasificado y publicado por la Agencia de Inteligencia de Defensa de Estados Unidos -DIA por su sigla en inglés- en mayo de 2004, en respuesta a una solicitud de la Ley de Libertad de Información presentada por la NSA en agosto de 2000.

Según Michael Evans, director del Proyecto de Documentación sobre Colombia de NSA, «los funcionarios de inteligencia creían que el documento era lo suficientemente serio e importante como para transmitirlo a los analistas en Washington».

En el número 1 del listado aparece John Jairo Velásquez Vásquez, alias ‘Popeye’ y de él se dice: “Colombiano, identificado con la cedula 71.697.722 expedida en Medellín. Este individuo es el jefe que está a cargo del Cartel de Medellín. Velásquez dirigió el asesinato del procurador general Carlos Mauro Hoyos en enero de 1988. Velásquez con ayuda de ‘El Mono’, ‘El Zarco’ y ‘Tyson’ controlaban todas las acciones terroristas y carro bombas en Medellín, Bogotá y Cali”.

El número 2 es Luis Fernando Londoño Santamaría, alias ‘El Trompas’: “Londoño es un jefe terrorista para el Cartel de Medellín y es amigo y escolta personal de Pablo Escobar Gaviria. Este asesino en conjunto con ‘Popeye’ participó en varios asesinatos a los miembros del Cartel de Cali en Medellín y se estima que 190 policías fueron asesinados”.

En el puesto 3 figura Guillermo Oswaldo Santana Gaitán, “un terrorista del Cartel de Medellín capturado en Bogotá en febrero 12 de 1990 con 10 misiles que iban dirigidos al presidente Bush. Santana también participó en el asesinato de un periodista llamado Jorge Enrique Pulido”.

En el cuarto lugar está Octavio Pineda Galvis. En el quinto David Ricardo Prisco Lopera (participó en el asesinato de Bernardo Jaramillo y Carlos Pizarro). El puesto 6 es para Ottoniel González Franco y en el 7 John Jairo Arias Tascón, alias ‘Pinina’ quien participó en el asesinato de Rodrigo Lara Bonilla.

William Infante es el número 8 y es el responsable del asesinato de Jaime Pardo Leal, líder de la Unión Patriótica. Le sigue Beyer Yesid Barrera Ramírez, quien operó en el Magdalena Medio. Y en la décima casilla aparece Pablo Alberto Zamora Rodríguez, acusado de ser uno de los asesinos de Guillermo Cano.

Siguen en el registro Jaime Alberto Meneses Serna, Oliviera Acuña Infante, Elicia Torres, Jaime Rodríguez Torres, Dandenis Muñoz Mosquera (La Quica), Brace Muñoz Mosquera (Tyson), Carlos Aguilar (El Mugre), Gustavo Adolfo Mesa Meneses (El Zarco), José Ancízar Arboleda, Samuel Escobar Arboleda, Carlos Pérez García.

En el puesto 70 dice “Fidel Castro Mejía”, pero al parecer se trata de Fidel Castaño Gil, porque se refieren a alias ‘Rambo’ y la descripción se acoge más a este: “Jefe de una banda de asesinos al servicio del Cartel de Medellín. Esta banda está relacionada con varias masacres en Antioquia. Córdoba y otros departamentos dentro del Magdalena Medio, región de Colombia”.

Pablo Escobar Gaviria figura 79 con esta descripción: “Máximo jefe del Cartel de Medellín, se inició como asesino y está a cargo de la más grande organización criminal en el mundo. Escobar es pedido por varias ciudades de Estados Unidos que han requerido su extradición por múltiples crímenes. Ha participado en varios asesinatos de banqueros colombianos y personalidades como Carlos Mauro Hoyos, el ministro de Justicia Rodrigo Lara Bonilla y el director de El Espectador”.  

Y en el puesto 82 aparece Álvaro Uribe Vélez, así identificado: “Político colombiano y senador dedicado a colaborarle al Cartel de Medellín en altos niveles gubernamentales. Uribe fue involucrado con la actividad de narcóticos en Estados Unidos. Su papá fue asesinado en Colombia por su conexión con los traficantes de narcóticos. Uribe ha trabajado para el Cartel de Medellín y es amigo cercano a Pablo Escobar Gaviria. Uribe ha participado en la campaña política de Escobar para ganar la posición de parlamentario asistente de Jorge (sic) Ortega. Uribe ha sido uno de los políticos del senado, quien ha atacado todas las formas del tratado de extradición”.

Conviene precisar que se referían a Jairo Ortega Ramírez: Pablo Escobar Gaviria fue elegido Representante a la Cámara en 1982 como suplente de este político, por un movimiento conocido como Alternativa Liberal.

En el documento aparecen además 17 ecuatorianos, entre ellos Jorge Ralph, jefe de operaciones del cartel de Medellín en Ecuador. También figuran allí el general y expresidente de Panamá Manuel Antonio Noriega, y el coronel retirado israelí Yair Klein.

El listado en su momento se rotuló como “CONFIDENTIAL NOFORN WINTEL”, indicativo de que su divulgación podía resultar lesiva a la seguridad de EE. UU., y por tal motivo no debía compartirse con ciudadanos extranjeros.
