Venezuela ha manejado muy bien la epidemia del COVID-19. Los comentaristas de derecha y de la seudo izquierda europea y progresista latinoamericana pronosticaban el derrumbe del sistema de salud de Venezuela, que iba a ser un caos, que los contagios serían de casi millones, de miles de muertos, qué pobre Venezuela, tan mal manejada por esos castrochavistas.
Pues bien, fallaron todas las profecías. Al contrario, en Colombia, la situación es de las peores del mundo. Este 5 de agosto de 2020 Colombia ocupaba el décimo lugar del mundo con más casos acumulados de contagio… y Venezuela el puesto 65.
En muertes diarias, Colombia es el quinto lugar del mundo después de Estados Unidos, Brasil, India y Sudáfrica, mientras Venezuela está muy por debajo, en los últimos lugares.
En el cuadro 1 se presentan los indicadores más importantes. Claramente, Venezuela supera a Colombia por muchas veces en todos los indicadores. La diferencia entre Colombia y Venezuela es asombrosa.

Estos indicadores son el resultado del buen manejo dado a la epidemia por el gobierno de Nicolás Maduro, y la importante ayuda de los médicos cubanos, más el apoyo de China, Rusia, Irán, Turquía y otros países en materiales, equipos, insumos y especialistas.
Clave, el espíritu organizativo para manejar la pandemia, con la vinculación de la ciudadanía, los testeos, el control de los infectados y sus contactos, y la focalización e intervención rápida en los sitios donde aparezcan brotes.
Fallaron todos los pronósticos catastróficos en relación con Venezuela, pero la ideología extremista de derecha que nos gobierna no permite reconocer esta realidad.
